The Ultimate Guide: How To "Fix" A Broken Brain
I run this whenever I lose my mind
The modern world will break your brain.
And turn you into a shadow of a shadow of yourself if you let it.
Don’t let it.
Simply ignore the world and build your brain instead.
Here’s how (in order):
1) Physical
See the sunrise.
See the sunset.
Sleep 8-9 hours a night.
Block out blue light after dark.
Eat 1 gram of protein per body weight.
Ground in nature.
Consume more fish, lamb, eggs, meat, vegetables, fruit.
Cut out alcohol, caffeine, and sugar.
Move for 45-60 minutes/daily.
Have quality sex.
2) Emotional
Cut out all complaining/complainers.
Make a list of all the people you spend your time interacting with. Put a + beside their name if they give you energy or a - if they subtract energy from you. Increase time with the former and decrease time with the latter.
Make a list of all the things you spend your time doing. Put a + beside the item if it gives you energy or a - if it subtracts energy from you. Double down on the former and decrease the latter.
Call a loved one daily.
Practice nightly forgiveness.
Become familiar with the Ideal Parent Protocol/Bioenergetics/Presence Process.
Watch stand up comedy.
3) Mental
Go on a daily aimless walk.
Start reading 3 books at a time: Fiction, non-fiction, biography.
Write 10 ideas a day.
Think for, not against.
Free yourself from the superego.
Cut out toxic music/media/cheap dopamine.
Create ‘buffer’ time on your calendar in between meetings and tasks (aim to keep your calendar as white as possible).
Build a Mindset Folder. Review it daily.
Add novelty to your days to spark the brain. Take a new route. Eat a new food. Listen to a new piece of music.
4) Financial
Cut out low performing projects.
Block distractions via Cold Turkey Blocker.
Set one priority goal.
Pull 1-3 high ROI levers in 4-6 hours/daily to fulfill priority goal.
Jot down all the open loops that are currently sucking up your RAM and dedicate a day or two to knocking them out/weekly or 30-60 mins daily.
5) Spiritual
Develop concentration: Close your eyes and focus on your belly.
Develop curiosity: Watch your thoughts, emotions, actions without judgment and with friendly interest.
Develop courage: Confront the truths you don’t want to see.
Develop compassion: Be gentle as the pain from the truth(s) arise.
Develop consistency: Keep going despite the difficulty & allow the truth to transform you.
Seems like a lot, right?
It is. But don’t do all the above at once (you cannot).
Pick and choose.
If you lack energy, start with the physical protocol (1-2 items).
If you wake up feeling like shit, start with the emotional protocol (1-2 items).
If you struggle to come up with good ideas, start with the mental protocol (1-2 items).
If you want to see a bigger number in your bank account, start with the financial protocol (1-2 items).
If you want to quench the deepest longing of the heart, start with the spiritual protocol (1-2 items).
Doesn’t matter.
We all start somewhere.
Important thing is to:
Start.
Or else your life may never actually begin.
