NEW Podcast Is Live!
+ wild story of the creative process in action
Yeow! A couple weeks ago I sent an email announcing the start of a brand new podcast I’m launching with my friend Danny Miranda. And today I’m even more stoked to let you know:
The new podcast is LIVE! (We’re 2 episodes deep)
You can check it out here or any podcast platform of your choice.
New episodes will be published every Wednesday at 5:00 am EST! :-)
(Friendly recommendation: You can obviously do whatever you want lol, but this is a ‘different’ type of podcast than what you may expect and it’s best listened to on 1x speed while out in nature. So set aside an hour or two every Wednesday (great day for a mid week reset) and hit play while soaking up the abundance of nature. If you do that, I think the pod will touch and transform you at the deepest of levels and clear away all the BS that prevents us from living life with our foot on the gas pedal while having max fun…. Or not. I don’t know. But it felt important to share, so there you have it.)
Your friend,
/tej
P.S. Now a few words about the creative process in action:
In the original email I sent out about the pod… I asked for any and all name suggestions you may have.
And I was extremely grateful for all the responses.
One type of response expressed how excited they were for this new pod and the second type of response listed off a list of potential names.
And all the names we received were great choices.
BUT none of em completely jumped off the page.
And that’s how the creative process usually goes from my experience.
In other words:
You come up with an objective. (In this case, the objective was to name the podcast).
And then you leverage the mind to brainstorm, brainstorm, brainstorm potential solutions to the objective.
And that’s precisely what we all did as a collective.
By doing so, we ‘exhausted’ the mind and got all the names that were stored in the collective out of the minds of the people and onto paper.
(A very important step to clear the mental runway, so thank you to everyone who submitted potential name ideas!)
Then Danny and I decided to leave the podcast unnamed (because nothing jumped out at us) and jumped on to record episode 02 last Thursday thinking life will fill in the details and the name will eventually find us.
(This is a very important part of the creative process. Essentially set an objective, use the conventional mind to brainstorm, brainstorm, brainstorm aka get all the ideas out of the brain and onto paper (this clears the runway). Then completely forget about it (aka create space) and allow life (the real pilot) to land the solution in real time/spontaneously & “receive” the answer).
And you know what?
That’s EXACTLY what ended up happening.
Even better?
It occurred LIVE on Episode 02 (completely unplanned).
I could write 1001 words about it here and explain how you can use this same creative process for whatever you want (I personally use it to come up with BIG IDEAS for marketing promotions), but it wouldn’t do it justice.
Instead:
It’s 100x better if you just listen to how it all unfolded live + our surprised reaction on the pod lol.
So here’s the link:
Ep 02. The Creative Process (And How We Came Up With This Name)
Happy listening & don’t forget to kick up your feet…
… because life is nothing more than a loving breeze!
P.P.S. We’re recording Ep 03 tomorrow. Incredibly stoked to see what unfolds. The beauty of this project is its 100% organic. No expectations. No goals. No structure. No attachment to anything. Just hitting “record” and allowing whatever happens to happen.
P.P.P.S. I never listen back to podcasts I record, but for some reason I’ve found myself relistening to our first two conversations while out on walks. And I thoroughly enjoyed it almost as if it was the first time hearing it because I think this is the type of content my own consciousness had been craving (for quite some time). But unfortunately I wasn’t finding it because the majority of the content out there was just blah or overly heavy/serious (with no jokes!).
So I’m stoked to say that at the very least Danny and I are creating exactly what I want to listen to…
Week in and week out.
That alone is a huge W in my books :-)
